Diabetes Advocates Attend State of the Union

February 10, 2020

On Tuesday, February 4th, President Trump delivered the annual State of the Union address. Each year, every Member of Congress is allowed to bring one guest to the historic speech and many choose constituents whose personal stories highlight an important issue the country is facing. Last week, more than a dozen Members of Congress invited constituents with diabetes to illustrate to the President, Congress and the nation at large the human toll that the skyrocketing cost of insulin is taking. ADA stands alongside these advocates in urging Congress and the President to enact legislation that will lower the cost of insulin for all who need it.
